CHA to Host 2025 HR Conference

What’s happening: CHA has partnered with the Hospital Association of Southern California to host the 2025 HR Conference in Long Beach, taking place on Feb. 19 from noon to 5 p.m. and Feb. 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

What else to know: The conference will cover topics relevant to human resource (HR) professionals, including recruitment and retention strategies, reasonable accommodation best practices, wage and hour compliance, and workplace investigations. Registration is open for CHA members.

The deadline to receive discount registration and hotel rates at this year’s Disaster Planning for California Hospitals Conference – to be held Sept. 10-11 in Pasadena – is Aug. 19. After that, registration will increase by $100, and the conference rate for hotel rooms expires.

On Oct. 3-4, CHA hosted its 2023 Disaster Planning Conference at the Sacramento Convention Center, which featured a keynote session from Natalie Johnson of management consulting firm ViDL Solutions on “Cultivating Energy in Our Modern World” and a general session from PG&E leadership staff on “Utility Response During Emergency Events.”

The California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Network is discussing hosting a virtual conference in February 2021. Traditionally, the annual California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference is held in person with general and concurrent sessions, roundtable discussion groups, networking meetups, sponsors, and an exhibitor showcase. Lessons Learned from the Missouri Disasters of 2011

The number and magnitude of natural disasters affecting Missouri in 2011 demonstrated the importance of hospital planning and preparedness. Hospitals throughout Missouri activated their emergency operations plans and the hospital command centers because of the 2011 disasters. And, although the financial damage for all three events was substantial, the impact on the health care system was manageable.
