This presentation focuses on the strategies used to redeploy physicians, as well as the training and mental health support provided by the program. Kaiser Permanente Northern California shares their redeployment strategies, including leveraging the interconnections of physicians within the KP Northern California health care system.
Emergency management and security officials are increasingly tasked with ways to effectively and safely train hospital workers on how to respond. This presentation discusses new methodologies for tackling the crucial task of training each hospital staff member and department, based on their unique functions within the hospital, as well as with their specific locations on any hospital campus.

Registration is now open for CHA’s Disaster Planning Virtual Conference. This dynamic conference, which will be held Sept 14-15, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. (PT) both days, will celebrate and draw inspiration from the determination and perseverance of disaster professionals up and down the state.

What’s happening: CHA held its annual Disaster Planning Conference in Pasadena on Sept. 10 and 11. Topics included best practices for communication and collaboration in an emergency, treatment of special pathogens, enhancing health care cybersecurity, and fundamentals of radiation protection.
What else to know: More than 500 people attended the conference, including emergency preparedness directors and coordinators; members of hospital disaster planning teams; compliance, nurse, and case managers; and quality and safety executives.
