Sens. Padilla and Feinstein Urge FEMA to Disburse COVID-19 Reimbursements

On Sept. 20, U.S. Sens. Alex Padilla and Dianne Feinstein wrote to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) urging the agency to swiftly disburse reimbursements for emergency protective measures taken by hospitals to combat COVID-19. CHA thanks the senators for their commitment to ensuring hospitals receive these essential funds.

Last week, the American Hospital Association released a report from Kaufman Hall, a nationally renowned consulting firm, showing that losses in the billions of dollars for hospitals and health systems are expected through 2022, resulting in the most financially difficult year for the field since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020.
