On Sept. 22, CHA sent a letter to the California congressional delegation outlining key priorities to address issues hospitals are facing across the state.

In the letter, CHA urges the delegation to pursue the following priorities in the final days of the 117th Congress:

  • Support financial stability for all hospitals
    • Reverse Medicare sequestration cuts and prevent statutory Pay-As-You-Go reductions
  • Support safety-net and rural hospitals
    • Make permanent the enhanced Medicare Low-Volume payment adjustment
    • Modify the harmful Medicaid disproportionate share hospital cap policy
  • Support access to care for patients
    • Reduce unnecessary burdens on providers and streamline overutilization of prior authorizations in Medicare Advantage
    • Extend public health emergency-enabled telehealth policies and flexibilities
    • Extend the Acute Hospital Care at Home Program
