The Board of Pharmacy is warning licensees to be aware of scam callers claiming to represent the California State Board of Pharmacy or another government agency. In many cases, callers are attempting to extort money or elicit sensitive information — e.g., license numbers, DEA registration numbers, etc. — from licensees.

Atkins; and Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas; along with Sen. Shannon Grove,” said Carmela Coyle, President & CEO of the California Hospital Association. “This week, with the state awarding nearly $300 million in no-interest loans to 17 health care facilities, some hospitals on the brink of bankruptcy or closure received a much-needed lifeline.”

Learn About New PSLF Program Rules for California and Texas Physicians, Hospitals During Webinar

The California Medical Association, California Hospital Association, Texas Medical Association, and Texas Hospital Association are hosting a webinar on Sept. 28 at 12:15-1:15 p.m. (PT) about the new federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program rules, which expand eligibility for California and Texas physicians. It will also discuss how hospitals, foundations, and other entities can become “qualifying employers” for purposes of PSLF, even though they are prohibited by state law from employing physicians.
