CHA reminds members to affirm their commitment to the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) voluntary patient billing guidelines by the Dec. 31 deadline.
Affirming your support of these guidelines — which are largely consistent with policies already required under state and federal law — demonstrates your hospital’s commitment to billing and price transparency best practices that deliver for patients, regardless of their ability to pay. The AHA plans to publish a list of hospitals and health systems that have made this commitment in early 2022.
To sign on, a hospital representative will need to complete a brief survey. A hospital-specific link to complete this survey was sent from AHA to the hospital CEO or other primary contact on Oct. 28. If your hospital is part of a health system, the AHA email was sent to the health system CEO or primary contact.
