CMS Will Permit Health Care Microgrid Systems for Emergency Power Sources

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has issued a categorical waiver allowing most health care facilities to use emergency power sources authorized by the 2021 edition of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Health Care Facilities Code, including a health care microgrid system (HCMS). The waiver excludes long-term care facilities that provide life support.

CHA DataSuite Releases Medicare Spending Per Beneficiary Report for CY 2019-21

CHA DataSuite has released a hospital-specific Medicare spending per beneficiary report (MSPB), that compares fee-for-service Medicare average spending per beneficiary at hospital/state/U.S. levels. The report, which is designed in the business intelligence platform, also shows a three-year MSPB trend (2019; July 1-Dec. 31, 2020; and 2021).
