Applications for Extended Bundled Payments Model Due by May 31

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is now accepting applications from Medicare-enrolled providers, suppliers, and Medicare accountable care organizations to participate in the forthcoming two-year extension of the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement (BPCI) Advanced Model. The application deadline is May 31 at 2 p.m. (PT).  

CMS Issues Proposed Rule Addressing Nursing Home Ownership

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a proposed rule that would require nursing homes to disclose additional ownership and management information to CMS and to states. This is part of an effort to increase the transparency of nursing home ownership and management.

The California Department of Public Health has issued All Facilities Letter (AFL) 23-14, which notifies hospice agencies, facilities, and interested stakeholders that the Center for Health Care Quality (CHCQ) is hosting a stakeholder meeting on March 14 from 10 a.m. to noon (PT) to discuss hospice regulations.  

CMS Plans Three New Payment Models to Lower Prescription Drug Costs

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced it plans to test three new models in an effort to lower prescription drug costs. This is in response to President Biden’s Executive Order 14087, “Lowering Prescription Drug Costs for Americans.”
