CHA DataSuite issued a hospital-specific analysis of federal fiscal year (FFY) 2024 Medicare skilled-nursing facility (SNF) prospective payment system (PPS) final rule. The analysis shows providers how Medicare fee-for-service payments will change from FFY 2023 to FFY 2024 based on the policies set forth in the final rule. The California Medical Association, California Hospital Association, Texas Medical Association, and Texas Hospital Association are hosting a webinar on Sept. 28 at 12:15-1:15 p.m. (PT) about the new federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program rules, which expand eligibility for California and Texas physicians. It will also discuss how hospitals, foundations, and other entities can become “qualifying employers” for purposes of PSLF, even though they are prohibited by state law from employing physicians.

On Aug. 17, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and its Medi-Cal Rx contractor Magellan posted an updated provider bulletin notifying pharmacy providers of its plan to recommence pharmacy outpatient drug retroactive fee-for-service (FFS) claims adjustments with dates of service from May 2017 through February 2019.

This requirement is known as Nonstructural Performance Category-5 and is a part of the 2030 seismic building standards.
