FEMA Lifts Funding Restrictions

This post has been archived and contains information that may be out of date.

With the signing of the continuing resolution (CR), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has lifted the immediate needs funding restrictions that were put into place on Aug. 29 in response to the near exhaustion of disaster relief funds and the disaster environment.

The CR included $16 billion of supplemental funding for FEMA and provides access to an additional $20 billion for the duration of the CR. FEMA will begin to process obligations that were previously stopped in the order they were paused. FEMA estimates all delayed obligations will be funded in the next several weeks.
