What’s happening: CHA is holding a members-only webinar on Aug. 8 at noon (PT) to discuss the 2025 outpatient prospective payment system (OPPS) and physician fee schedule (PFS) proposed rules from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
What else to know: The webinar will cover key proposals in these proposed rules ahead of the comment deadline and feature CHA’s Megan Howard, vice president, policy, and Chad Mulvany, vice president, policy, as speakers. Registration is open.
On July 10, CMS issued its calendar year (CY) 2025 OPPS proposed rule and PFS proposed rule.
CMS estimates that Medicare expenditures under OPPS will increase by $1.8 billion based on changes in the proposed rule. Some key provisions that will be discussed in the webinar include:
- Payment update
- Changes to comprehensive ambulatory payment classification packaging and separate payment for radiopharmaceuticals
- Policies related to incarcerated individuals
CMS’ proposed CY 2025 PFS conversion factor is $32.36, a decrease of 2.8% from the CY 2024 PFS conversion factor. The webinar will cover provisions related to:

- Telehealth services and behavioral health services
- Evaluation and management visits
