Data Reporting Will Transition to CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network in Mid-December

This post has been archived and contains information that may be out of date.

In mid-December, COVID-19 data will be reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). The NHSN will assume responsibility for collecting the data when the Department of Health and Human Services’ contract with TeleTracking expires on Dec. 31.

No change in reporting is required at this time. Beginning Aug. 23, the CDC will host a series of training webinars on the transition. For more information and to register for the webinars, visit the CDC web page on the transition, which the agency will continue to update with guidance and information.

Content updates for the week of Aug. 22 will be most relevant for jurisdictions reporting on behalf of hospitals in their state, for facilities reporting at an enterprise level, and for third-party vendors.
