With the 2024 legislative session underway, CHA continues to work diligently to bring seismic compliance relief to California hospitals.
One significant step is CHA’s sponsored Senate Bill (SB) 1432, jointly authored by a bipartisan group of Senators. The proposal provides hospitals additional time to comply with the 2030 seismic requirements, introduces additional disaster planning requirements for hospitals, and requires the state to report to the Legislature an analysis on the cost impacts of seismic compliance and access impacts from hospital construction.
