2024 Disaster Conference
This presentation provides valuable insight into pediatric disaster planning and response and highlights three new resources – a family preparedness activity, a pediatric decontamination picture book, and a virtual training workshop covering many pediatric disaster scenarios.
This presentation helps hospitals identify types of emergency assistance and funding interactions with commercial insurance. It also outlines the elements necessary to secure and spend federal funds for eligible purposes. The session includes details on the roles of each organization under the National Response and Recovery frameworks and the Stafford Act.
2023 Disaster Conference
In this presentation, participants will learn how to lead cost efficient disaster exercises and incident responses within thematic approaches within the following scenarios: mass decontamination, active shooter, bomb threat and labor action scenarios, and will receive ready-made templates for exercise development.
Cybersecurity is integral to hospital emergency response efforts, as it protect sensitive information, maintains operational continuity, prevents disruptions, combats disinformation, secures critical infrastructure, and facilitates collaboration among stakeholders.
In disaster events, resources for treating pediatric victims may be limited, and staff inexperienced with treating pediatric critical injuries and illnesses will result in an inadequate surge capacity. As part of preparedness, each facility should predetermine their ability to handle pediatric victims and develop a plan to be able to increase this capacity based on a pediatric surge.

The report, which is designed in the business intelligence platform, summarizes hospital quality performance and impacts for the three Medicare inpatient programs: value-based purchasing (VBP), readmissions reduction program, and the hospital acquired condition (HAC) reduction program for federal fiscal years (FFYs) 2021 to 2023.
