CHA DataSuite has issued a hospital-specific overview report of the Medicare quality programs. The report, which is designed in the business intelligence platform, summarizes hospital quality performance and impacts for the three Medicare inpatient programs: value-based purchasing (VBP), readmissions reduction program, and the hospital acquired condition (HAC) reduction program for federal fiscal years (FFYs) 2021 to 2023.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is neither penalizing nor rewarding hospitals for FFYs 2022 and 2023 VBP programs. Therefore, there are no FFYs 2022 or 2023 VBP performance data in this analysis.
In addition, CMS is not penalizing hospitals for the FFY 2023 HAC reduction program due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, there are no FFY 2023 HAC reduction performance data in this analysis.
