What’s happening: The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released voluntary health care-specific cybersecurity performance goals (CPGs) to help organizations prioritize implementation of high-impact cybersecurity practices.
What else to know: The CPGs include 10 essential and 10 enhanced goals. They are based on multiple cybersecurity frameworks and directly address common attack vectors against U.S. domestic hospitals as identified in the 2023 Hospital Cyber Resiliency Landscape Analysis.

On Sept. 21, CHA will host a webinar about how to prepare for and respond to a cybersecurity breach. This is a precursor to the 2023 Disaster Planning Conference, which features cybersecurity as a complete breakout session track.
The following resources are shared to support hospitals in enhancing their crisis preparedness and response capabilities. These tools focus on fostering effective collaboration between hospitals and emergency management agencies to support a coordinated responses during disasters.
