CMS Issues Proposed Rule on Medicaid Financing

On Tuesday, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a proposed rule titled “Medicaid Fiscal Accountability Rule.” CHA is still analyzing the provisions outlined in the proposed rule and the potential impact of new guidelines and reporting for Medicaid supplemental payments and their financing arrangements.

Tuition scholarships are available for CHA’s Creating Care Partnerships: Beyond the Continuum conference, scheduled for March 2-3, 2020, in Pasadena. The conference will focus on how hospitals are moving toward value-based care by reaching across and beyond the care continuum, featuring “real world” examples of innovative care partnerships that support effective care transitions.

Behavioral Health Integration Incentive Program Applications Due January 21

Applications are due on or before Jan. 21 for those interested in participating in the Department of Health Care Services’ (DHCS) Behavioral Health Integration Program. Eligible entities include primary care, specialty care, perinatal care, hospital-based and behavioral health providers, federally qualified health centers, rural health clinics, Indian health services and public providers who provide services to Medi-Cal beneficiaries are eligible to submit applications. County-based providers are eligible to apply.
