CHA DataSuite Releases Quality Measure Trends, FFY 2023 Preliminary Wage Index and Occupational Mix Analyses
CHA DataSuite has issued two hospital-specific analyses for hospitals. The first analysis is of the Medicare hospital federal fiscal year (FFY) 2023 preliminary wage index and occupational mix data — which is designed in the Information Builders (IB) platform — and a second analysis covers the first quarter of 2021 quality program measure designed in the IB platform.

CDPH Updates Recommendations for COVID-19 Testing at General Acute Care Hospitals
On June 7, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released updated COVID-19 testing recommendations for both health care personnel (HCP) and patients at general acute care hospitals (GACHs). The revised All Facilities Letter (AFL) 20-88.1 reflects updated recommendations in light of HCP and patients now, in many cases, being fully vaccinated.

Emergency Cal/OSHA Regulations Seek to Define Normal Consumption of PPE
Last year, to combat COVID-19, Gov. Newsom signed Assembly Bill 2537 (Rodriguez), which required all acute care hospitals to create and maintain a supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) equal to three months of normal consumption. As the phrase “normal consumption” was undefined in the bill, this created significant confusion for hospitals.
