The Joint Commission to Begin Unannounced Surveys on March 15

For licensing & certification staff

The Joint Commission (TJC) is planning to resume unannounced surveys on March 15.

For the past few months, given the COVID-19 pandemic, TJC account executives have reached out to providers to determine their readiness for survey prior to arriving. Given the decreasing incidence and caseloads of COVID-19, they will be returning to their pre-pandemic procedures.

As a result, providers will no longer receive a phone call or email from their account executive when TJC has determined the area is low risk for its accreditation survey team to visit. TJC advises providers that they will receive notification on the first day of the unannounced survey through email notification to the primary accreditation contact and CEO and via the Notification of Scheduled Events section of their Joint Commission Connect page.
