The Department of Health Care Access and Information has finalized regulations that impact the reporting of inpatient discharges and emergency department and ambulatory surgery encounters that occur on or after Jan. 1, 2023.
The new regulations require full patient address reporting, including a housing status indicator, reporting ICD-10 codes related to the social determinants of health, minor changes to the patient disposition, and a new source of admission code.
