On Sept. 29, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) updated the timeline for the Retention Payment Program. The timeline clarifies when covered entities, which include hospitals, must register with DHCS to receive an application for the Retention Payment Program.
The timeline is:
Oct. 21 to Dec. 21: Covered entities must register with DHCS during this time period to be qualified and receive an application.
Nov. 29 to Dec. 30: Covered entities will receive a link to an application, due Dec. 30. Applicants are encouraged to apply early.
January 2023: DHCS expects to issue payments during this time.
Additionally, DHCS updated its FAQs to include additional guidance on how to calculate an employee’s working hours if they are on leave, as well as other issues. DHCS states that additional guidance should be forthcoming.
