The Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) has updated its FAQs to reflect a new law — Senate Bill 778 (2019) — that extends the deadline for complying with new anti-harassment training requirements from Jan. 1, 2020, to Jan. 1, 2021.

The law also allows employers who have provided anti-harassment training to either supervisory or non-supervisory employees to maintain their existing bi-annual training schedule; DFEH expects to have online training courses available next month.

In the interim, DFEH has provided a Sexual Harassment and Abusive Conduct Prevention Toolkit, which includes a sample training. Employers may use the toolkit in conjunction with an eligible trainer to provide sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training.
