COVID-19 Tracker Update Includes New Retroactive Reporting Feature

This post has been archived and contains information that may be out of date.

CHA has worked closely with the California Department of Public Health to create a process that will allow for retroactive weekend and holiday COVID-19 reporting at the state level. To allow for this functionality, CHA is updating the COVID-19 tracker within SmartSheet. These changes will go live on Aug. 24, and hospitals will be able to report retroactively starting Aug. 29.

CHA will hold two identical webinars to review the retroactive reporting features and answer questions. A revised upload template will be provided to hospitals using this feature on Aug. 19. Hospitals can attend webinars on the new retroactive reporting using the following links:

Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. (PT)

Aug. 23 at 11 a.m. (PT)

Additionally, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) updated its COVID-19 hospital reporting requirements (see the HHS FAQs) in response to changes in the pandemic. This update removes eight fields related to vaccine administration and influenza and COVID-19 deaths as of Aug. 24.

This update also makes changes to psychiatric/rehabilitation hospitals reporting. These facilities will now be required to report annually.
