On Nov. 25, CDPH issued All-Facilities Letter (AFL) 20-88 that provides guidance for weekly COVID-19 screenings for hospital health care personnel (HCP) and other testing recommendations, such as for newly admitted patients. Hospitals have also been asked to submit a “General Acute Care COVID-19 Mitigation Testing Plan” to their CDPH District Office by Dec. 7.
Implementation of the AFL’s recommended testing will be a significant undertaking for hospitals at a time when they are facing surges and planning for COVID-19 vaccination.
