The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has issued updated surveyor guidance on ligature risk requirements in hospitals.
Hospitals can demonstrate compliance with patient safety standards related to ligature risks through appropriate patient assessments, adequate staffing and monitoring, and mitigation of environmental risks.
