CHA, in its responses to the request for information from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), has given recommendations on how to improve or make permanent critical waivers and flexibilities that stemmed from the COVID-19 public health emergency.
In advocating for improvements or permanence for the flexibilities, the responses note the positive impact of the COVID-19 waivers in addressing health disparities and streamlining care delivery for those in greatest need.
CHA also addressed the impact of CMS’ policies and requirements on provider well-being and retention, as well as give feedback on health equity.
This feedback to CMS would not have been possible without input from CHA members.
