CHA has issued a comprehensive summary of the calendar year 2023 outpatient prospective payment system final rule. The policies take effect Jan. 1.
The summary details finalized acute care hospital policies, including annual payment and quality updates, policies related to the inpatient-only list, payment for separately payable drugs acquired under the 340B program, and add-on payments for domestically manufactured N95 respirators.
It also covers additional policies to implement the rural emergency hospital program and a method of accounting for research organs that will improve payment accuracy and lower the costs to procure and provide research organs to the research community.
