The California Department of Public Health has announced that it will distribute over 300,000 testing kits to skilled-nursing facilities (SNFs).

As noted in All Facilities Letter 22-02, the tests are being distributed to support testing for visitors seeking indoor visitation. SNFs receiving these supplies must use them to facilitate visitation and to comply with the state requirement that SNF visitors have a negative SARS-CoV-2 test for indoor visitation, as noted in the Dec. 31, 2021, public health officer order.

SNFs can request testing supplies through their Medical Health Operation Area Coordinator program.
