On Dec. 20, 2018, Carmela Coyle, President and CEO of the California Hospital Association, presented Vicki Veal the Certificate of Distinction award.

The Certificate of Distinction is given for exemplary devotion, of the highest order, to volunteerism on behalf of hospitals and health care, particularly in the service of committees or programs of CHA or CAHHS.

Vicki has served as a volunteer leader on the California Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (CAHHS) Committee on Volunteer Services for nearly 10 years, the past three as chair, and on the CAHHS and CHA boards since 2016. Since 2001, she has provided more than 7,200 hours of volunteer service at Mission Hospital Mission Viejo. During that service, she originated and served on the committee to begin shuttle service at the hospital, played an instrumental role on the Volunteer Emergency Response Team and held various leadership positions with the hospital volunteer auxiliary, including representation on the hospital foundation board. She has been a member of the Orange County Council of Hospital Volunteers since 2010, and is currently the Chair of Volunteers.

Congratulations Vicki and thank you for your continued support to hospital volunteerism.
