On Jan. 26, Governor Newsom announced his plan to build a statewide vaccine administration network that will speed the equitable delivery of vaccine supply to eligible Californians. Blue Shield of California has been named as the third-party administrator (TPA) to directly allocate vaccines to a provider network as an agent of the State of California. This approach is intended to increase capacity to improve throughput, maintain the State’s focus on equity, and be scalable as vaccine supply grows.
This special briefing will feature a presentation from Blue Shield of California and California’s Government Operations Agency that will explain their partnership and plans for management of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution.
