Thanks to a vertical sleeve gastrectomy — a procedure that diminishes stomach size — and a focus on nutrition, diet, and education, Beverly reached her goal weight. The life-changing care she received at Sutter Health led her to pursue a career in nutrition. Today, she interns at the Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital, where she uses her own personal weight loss journey to better connect with patients: “It feels so good that I can help people and relate to them.
