CHA DataSuite has released hospital-specific impact analyses of the federal fiscal year (FFY) 2024 Medicare inpatient prospective payment system (IPPS) proposed rule. They are intended to show how Medicare inpatient fee-for-service payments would change from FFY 2023 to FFY 2024 based on the policies set forth in the proposed rule.

CHA Comments on IPPS Proposed Rule

What’s happening: CHA asked the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to increase the payment update in comments on the federal fiscal year 2025 inpatient prospective payment system (IPPS) proposed rule. 

What else to know: Members are encouraged to use CHA’s letter as a template to submit comments, which are due on June 10.

CHA Expresses Concerns on NQF Draft Standards for Serious Reportable Events

In a recent comment letter, CHA commended the National Quality Forum (NQF) on improvements to its draft standards for serious reportable events; however, CHA also expressed serious concerns about the lack of specificity of some of the measure definitions.
The NQF report is updated every four years and sets national standards for data collection and public reporting of serious reportable events.
After reviewing comments, NQF will release a revised report before the end of January, and NQF members, including CHA, will vote on the report.
