[embed]What’s happening: The Substance Use Disorder Workforce Act (H.R. 7050) was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives.
What else to know: CHA is part of a coalition supporting this legislation.
What’s happening: CHA held its annual Disaster Planning Conference in Pasadena on Sept. 10 and 11. Topics included best practices for communication and collaboration in an emergency, treatment of special pathogens, enhancing health care cybersecurity, and fundamentals of radiation protection.
What else to know: More than 500 people attended the conference, including emergency preparedness directors and coordinators; members of hospital disaster planning teams; compliance, nurse, and case managers; and quality and safety executives.
These resources support hospitals in navigating complex regulatory environments, and work to remain in compliance with evolving health care standards, regulations, and guidelines.

CDPH and CHA will once again gather virtually to discuss all things licensing – including program flexes due to potential surges, the status of re-licensing and recertification surveys, and CDPH’s plans to modify Title 22.
Participants can speak with their district office representatives in separate breakout sessions. Now is the time to gain licensing clarification and a better understanding of CDPH policies and protocols.

What’s happening: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued guidance to hospitals and state surveyors that underscores the importance of following reporting requirements for new hospital respiratory illness data reporting conditions of participation (CoP).
What else to know: CMS also clarifies in the guidance that psychiatric hospitals and rehabilitation hospitals will report their daily COVID-19, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus data annually rather than weekly.
