Registration Open for NAMI California Annual Conference

The National Alliance on Mental Illness California will hold its annual conference in Newport Beach on Aug. 25-26.  

During the two-day conference, sessions on behavioral health will include updates on housing, crisis response, patient empowerment, and support for parents and caregivers.  

Keynote speakers include the Acting California Surgeon General Devika Bhushan, MD; entrepreneurial businessman, philanthropist, music mogul, producer, and entertainer Percy Miller (aka Master P); and Major League Baseball All-Star Adrian Gonzalez.  

Other speakers on the program include Michael Hunn, CEO of CalOptima; UC Davis Police Chief and former California Highway Patrol Commissioner Joseph Farrow; Stephanie Welch, deputy secretary of behavioral health at the California Health and Human Services Agency; and Marshall Moncrief, CEO of Mind OC and former executive clinical and administrative leader of mental health and addiction services for the Hoag Health and Providence-St Joseph Health Systems. 

The conference features “Ask the Doctors” sessions where attendees can hear the latest research on treatments for mood disorders, schizophrenia, anxiety, and child and adolescent psychiatry.
