On Oct. 3-4, CHA hosted its 2023 Disaster Planning Conference at the Sacramento Convention Center, which featured a keynote session from Natalie Johnson of management consulting firm ViDL Solutions on “Cultivating Energy in Our Modern World” and a general session from PG&E leadership staff on “Utility Response During Emergency Events.”  

DHCS Postpones Disproportionate Share Hospital Cuts for July-September 2023 Payment Cycle

On Oct. 4, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) notified CHA that due to the passage of House Resolution 5860, which delayed the implementation of the Affordable Care Act Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) reduction until after Nov. 17, the department will not reduce the July-September 2023 round of DSH payments.

CDPH Issues Update Information on COVID-19 Resources for SNFs

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued All Facilities Letter (AFL) 23-29, recommending that all residents of skilled-nursing facilities (SNFs) with symptomatic COVID-19 be evaluated by a prescribing clinician to be considered for COVID-19 therapeutics, any oral COVID-19 therapeutics drug-drug interaction risk, and/or renal and hepatic impairment in advance of a COVID-19 diagnosis.
