The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) has issued its final Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA).

As required by the 21st Century Cures Act, the TEFCA provides a set of non-binding principles and approach to governance to support nationwide health information exchange. In addition, ONC released a Health Level Seven Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR) Roadmap, intended to illustrate how the TEFCA will accelerate the adoption of FHIR-based exchange.

The Sequoia Project will host a series of upcoming webinars to educate the public about TEFCA and how to participate, including how interested entities can apply for designation as a Qualified Health Information Network.
