HCAI Announces 17 Recipients of Distressed Hospital Loan Program Funds
The Department of Health Care Access and Information has announced the 17 hospitals that will receive no-interest loans under the $300 million Distressed Hospital Loan Program.
HCAI Updates Advisory Guide on Water Rationing Plan Requirement
On Aug. 21, the Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) released a revised advisory guide on the water rationing plan due from general acute care hospitals by the end of this year. This requirement is known as Nonstructural Performance Category-5 and is a part of the 2030 seismic building standards.

CHA Resource on Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program Eligibility Now Available
CHA has created a two-page resource on the new requirements, including revisions to the definition of “employee” and “qualifying employer,” that will enable California’s nonprofit hospitals to certify physician employment under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
