She was transferred to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, whose outstanding care — including an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine, blood transfusions, and dialysis — was crucial to saving her life. Now, she is working on getting her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, with the goal of one day joining the Scripps team that once saved her life.
