Beginning this week, Livanta — the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) national contractor for Medicare claim review services — will begin to review Short Stay and Higher-Weighted Diagnosis Related Group (HWDRG) claims from hospitals.
Beginning this week, Livanta will begin sampling hospital claims for HWDRG review. On or about the week of Sept. 20, Livanta will begin sampling hospital claims for Short Stay Review. Hospitals in the sample sets will receive medical record requests directly from Livanta. Additional information on the review process is available in Livanta’s Provider Bulletin 20.
