The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has instructed certified independent dispute resolution (IDR) entities to hold all payment determinations until further guidance is issued by the departments of Health & Human Services, Labor, and Treasury.
This decision stems from the Feb. 6 court decision that vacated the federal government’s revised IDR process for determining payment for out-of-network services under the No Surprises Act. Certified IDR entities have also been instructed to recall any payment determinations issued after Feb. 6.
