The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recently released additional American Rescue Plan (ARP) rural relief funds to qualifying providers whose applications had not been processed.

HRSA has processed 99% of applications and distributed $7.9 billion of the $8.5 billion ARP rural relief payments appropriated by Congress. Providers who received ARP rural payments this week have until June 30, 2023, to use these funds to cover expenses and lost revenue related to COVID-19. Providers must report on the use of these funds by Sept. 30, 2023.

With this distribution, approximately 3,000 California hospitals and providers have received $380 million in ARP rural relief funds.
