To help hospitals and health systems understand the State Health Order on Hospital Surge that was issued by the California Department of Public Health on Jan. 5 and amended on Jan. 6., CHA will host a webinar Jan. 8 from 8 to 9 a.m. (PT).
The complimentary, members-only webinar will detail two main components to the order, which is effective immediately and will continue for three weeks, unless rescinded. The first component delays low- and intermediate-acuity elective procedures (exempting children’s hospitals) for counties experiencing less than 10% ICU capacity. The second component mandates that all hospitals accept transfers “when capable and clinically appropriate.”
