FAQs Help Determine Appropriate Independent Dispute Resolution Batching

This post has been archived and contains information that may be out of date.

What’s Happening: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued two FAQs explaining appropriate batching for disputes in the independent dispute resolution (IDR) process.

What Else to Know: The FAQs are in response to the district court’s opinions and orders in TMA IIIand TMA IV.

The two FAQs explain how certified IDR entities may determine whether a dispute is appropriately batched. The FAQs also clarify other provisions and provide information about the agency’s policy for extending existing IDR deadlines once the federal IDR portal reopens to all batched disputes and single disputes involving air ambulance services.
