Dual Eligible Medi-Cal Managed Care Enrollment — Participant Information

Originally Recorded: December 14, 2022

CalAIM is standardizing Medi-Cal coverage for people enrolled in both Medi-Cal and Medicare with changes for many Californians starting next year.

On January 1, 2023, those enrolled in Medicare and Medi-Cal, who currently receive their Medi-Cal benefits through traditional fee-for-service, will have their Medi-Cal benefits transitioned to Medi-Cal managed care statewide, which could mean changes for you.

You may have questions about what this means for beneficiaries as well as providers. CHA is hosting this webinar and has invited the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to present on what this transition means and how it will and will not affect Medi-Cal and Medicare providers that serve dual eligibles.

Topics covered include:

  • Dual eligible Medi-Cal managed care transition timeline
  • Medi-Cal managed care interaction with Medicare coverage options
  • Medi-Cal managed care plan responsibilities and impact on providers

DHCS will provide a rundown of all the details
