Last week, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) emailed hospitals requesting updates to their lists of contacts who receive information related to the hospital fee directed payment program. DHCS uses the list to update hospitals regularly as information becomes available for the current and future directed payment programs. Hospitals should complete and return the Excel file (download) to privatedp@dhcs.ca.gov no later than July 19.
In addition to the contact list, DHCS is collecting information for individuals who seek access to their Secure File Transfer Protocol site, which is used for encounter data file transfers with health plans and hospitals. These data files are time-limited and are deleted within 45 days of publishing, which is why hospitals should consider revisiting who has access. Access is limited to five individuals.
