The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has announced it will delay specific checkwrites scheduled for the last two weeks of the state fiscal year (June) until the start of the next fiscal year. The two-week checkwrite hold policy has been in effect for several years.
Medi-Cal fee-for-service (FFS) payments scheduled with a warrant date of June 18 will be held until July 2. This includes checkwrites and payments for the following Medi-Cal programs:
- Abortion
- California Children’s Services
- Family Planning, Access, Care, and Treatment
FFS payments for scheduled for June 25 will also be held until July 2, including the programs listed above as well as the Genetically Handicapped Persons Program.
