Deadline Extended to Ask Congress and CMS to Fix Inadequate Medicare Inpatient Payment Proposal

This post has been archived and contains information that may be out of date.

Last week, CHA issued an alert on the inadequate Medicare inpatient payment proposed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The deadline for members of Congress to sign a bipartisan letter asking CMS Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure to ensure next year’s Medicare payments to hospitals accurately reflect the cost of providing care has been extended to June 9.

Currently the only California representatives who have signed the letter are Reps. Costa (CA-21), Steel (CA-45) and Valadao (CA-22). CHA urges hospital leaders to reach out to their U.S. representative ahead of the deadline.

Members can check for updates on the signature list on CHA’s federal legislative tracker.
