Under a law that took effect last year, health care providers diagnosing or treating Parkinson’s disease patients must report each case to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) by March 29.

Submitted information will be included in the California Parkinson’s Disease Registry, a statewide registry that measures the incidence and prevalence of Parkinson’s disease. CDPH intends to use the information to improve the lives of those affected by the disease.
