Covered California announced last week that more than 58,000 consumers have enrolled in health insurance coverage through the exchange since it established a “Special Enrollment Period” in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The enrollment data cover a three-week period from March 20, the date the Special Enrollment Period was launched, through April 7.
The pace of sign-ups has been nearly three times the level that Covered California saw during the same period in 2019. Additionally, Covered California has seen significant interest online with more than 885,000 new users visiting CoveredCA.com (twice as many as the number of visits during the same time period last year) and more than 129,000 unique views of the Medi-Cal page.
