On Sept. 11, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved the Medi-Cal managed care rates for Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2021. Subsequently, on Sept. 14, CMS approved the revised rate packages for Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2021.
The original approval of the calendar year 2021 Medi-Cal managed care rates includes all managed care-directed payment programs in that rate year. It also includes the last 12 months of the Private Hospital Directed Payment program for Hospital Fee Program 6, and the revised rate approvals include the split rates for the Unsatisfactory Immigration Status and Satisfactory Immigration Status population. Copies of both the original and revised federal approval letters are available on CHA’s Hospital Fee Program web page under Program 6.
